Orthotics

Orthotics, or Foot Orthoses, are custom made devices that are placed inside the shoes to correct an underlying biomechanical deficiency. This biomechanical deficiency in the foot may be the cause of a variety of podiatric and orthopedic problems in the back, hips, knees, ankles and feet.
Orthotics are prescription devices fabricated from a plaster mold of the foot which is taken in the office. These custom devices serve to control abnormal foot motion, which can often contribute to a variety of lower extremity and back problems. The use of orthotics can be an effective alternative to surgery.
